The article discusses the concept of 5G-SBA-PKI, a Public Key Infrastructure for secure communication in 5G Service-Based Architecture. The authors point out that current 5G security specifications leave several details unspecified, particularly in setting up an appropriate Public Key Infrastructure for 5G. The proposed 5G-SBA-PKI includes multiple certificate authorities at different levels for certification operations and key exchange. The performance of the 5G-SBA-PKI was then evaluated using pre-quantum and quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms.
