The article presents a novel technique for exterior sound-field reconstruction using acousto-optic sensing. This method relies on concentric circle sampling and a two-dimensional exterior sound-field reconstruction approach based on circular harmonic extensions. The technique is deemed superior to conventional reconstruction methods as it provides better accuracy while using a minimal amount of measured projection data. The challenges of the exterior problem, where the sound source is located inside the reconstruction area, are addressed in this work.
