This paper introduces AINeedsPlanner, a workbook designed to enhance collaboration between AI experts and clients. It aims to facilitate clear and effective communication, which is crucial in planning AI applications. The workbook is based on an analysis of completed AI application projects and a study with AI experts, identifying key steps in AI application planning and defining a taxonomy of information needs. The utility of the workbook is demonstrated through two case studies in real-world settings.
