This paper presents a new queueing theoretic model to analyze the performance of a network comprised of two half-duplex transmitter nodes with asynchronous arrival traffic that follow the slotted ALOHA protocol. The authors derive the exact values of delay and stability region for each node, providing a more accurate understanding of the network’s performance. The proposed model is particularly relevant for large networks, such as those used in IoT technology and 5G/6G mobile networks, where the use of random access schemes is increasingly important.
