The article discusses how Augmented Reality (AR) can be used to improve the command, control, and supervision of large multi-agent human-robot teams. The authors have developed an AR-based framework, AugRE, that enables users to interact with over 50 autonomous agents. This system is particularly useful in fields such as defense and search and rescue, where it can enhance data collection and team safety. The authors found that AR headsets were useful for providing users with the ability to supervise, command, and control these agents. The research indicates that combining AR with user interaction modalities can improve human-robot team collaboration, robustness, and trust.
