The study presents BrickStARt, a tool that allows users to design and create tangible objects using a mixed-reality headset. The tool utilizes interlocking construction blocks for in-situ design and testing, allowing users to evaluate dimensions, balance, and fit of the designed objects. Users can then refine and digitally post-process their designs. A user study indicated that first-time 3D modelers were more successful using BrickStARt than Tinkercad, suggesting that BrickStARt offers an accessible and explorative process for quick, tangible design iterations.
