The article discusses a study on an AI-Assisted Provider Platform (A2P2) designed to help care providers deliver protocolized therapies in a more empathetic manner. The platform was tested with providers with and without mental health expertise. The AI-assisted system significantly decreased response times and increased empathic response and goal recommendation accuracy across both user groups. The study concludes that the platform has excellent usability and can potentially address the shortage of mental health providers by supporting less extensively trained providers.
