DeltaLCA is an open-source tool designed to help electronics designers make more sustainable choices. Unlike traditional life cycle assessment (LCA) tools, DeltaLCA automates the inventory generation and data availability processes, making it easier and faster to compare the environmental impacts of different designs. Users can upload design files from Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software, and DeltaLCA will guide them in determining which design has a larger carbon footprint. The tool achieves comparable results to full LCAs but requires significantly less time and expertise, making it a practical solution for sustainable electronics design.
