This article presents research on how interface-based reflection nudges can improve the quality of deliberation on online platforms. Two studies were conducted, one with 12 participants and another with 120 participants, to assess the effects of different reflective nudges. Five types of nudges were tested: persona, temporal prompts, analogies and metaphors, cultural prompts, and storytelling. The results showed that persona, temporal prompts, and storytelling were the preferred nudges, significantly enhancing the deliberative quality of online discussions. The study concludes that the choice of reflectors can significantly influence the dynamics and nature of online discussions.
