The paper investigates the effects of human leading or following preferences on human-robot collaboration and perception of the robot. The authors propose a task planning framework that takes into account these human preferences. They conducted a user study where a robot collaborated with human participants, and found that this approach improved both team performance and human perception of the robot. The research also uncovered interesting relationships between participants’ leadership styles and their collaboration with the robot, suggesting this as an area for future study.
