The study investigates how undergraduate computer science students utilize ChatGPT, a popular large language model (LLM) developed by OpenAI. Using student surveys and interviews, the researchers found that over 57% of students have a positive outlook towards adopting ChatGPT as an aid in coursework-related tasks. Challenges for long-term acceptance of ChatGPT amongst students were also identified. The findings may have broader implications for other LLMs and their role in computing education.
