This paper by Hideaki Takahashi and Alex Fukunaga from The University of Tokyo discusses the Transit Obfuscation Problem. The problem involves traveling from a start to an end location while concealing a specific transit point from potential adversaries. The authors propose a concept of transit anonymity, a measure of the anonymity of a specific transit point, even when faced with an adversary with comprehensive knowledge of the path planning algorithm. The paper further introduces and assesses planning/search algorithms that meet this anonymity criterion.
