This article presents a suite of practical tests for evaluating the quality of a projection-based virtual reality (VR) display. It discusses the need for VR systems to operate correctly and accurately, especially in corporate settings. The authors lay out several potential sources of error in a typical VR system, and provide tests and heuristics to quickly identify these errors and their sources. The focus is on the visual aspects of the VR system, particularly the display and the tracking system. The article also includes a discussion of methods for correcting or reducing these errors.
