The article focuses on the development of ‘ReviewFlow’, an AI-driven tool designed to assist novice reviewers in the academic peer review process. The tool provides contextual reflections to critique and annotate submissions, in-situ knowledge support to assess novelty, and notes-to-outline synthesis to help align peer reviews with community expectations. The study found that while users appreciated the streamlined process support from ReviewFlow, there was some concern about using AI as part of the scientific review process.
