The paper presents the development of a voice-controlled personal assistant robot. The robot takes human voice commands via its inbuilt microphone and executes them, giving an acknowledgement through speech output. The robot can perform different movements, turns, wakeup/shutdown operations, and can also develop a conversation with humans. The voice commands are processed in real-time using an offline server, and communicated directly to the server via a USB cable. The robot is developed on a micro-controller based platform. The paper also discusses potential applications in homes, hospitals, car systems, and industries.
