The article, ‘Signal Quality Auditing for Time-series Data’, discusses the significance of signal quality assessment (SQA) in monitoring the reliability of data acquisition systems. This is particularly important in AI-driven Predictive Maintenance (PMx) applications. The authors have developed an open-source software that implements signal quality indices (SQIs) for the analysis of time-series data. They demonstrate the effectiveness of these SQIs using established benchmark data. Additionally, they explore alternative approaches to denoising time-series data to improve the quality of degraded signals. This is the first open-source software toolkit to provide a broad range of signal quality assessment and improvement techniques validated on publicly available benchmark data.
