The paper discusses the use of Specific Emitter Identification (SEI) in managing device security. It addresses the limitations of Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD), commonly used in SEI for the decomposition of non-linear, non-stationary electromagnetic signals. The authors propose an improved version, Joint Variational Mode Decomposition (JVMD), which simultaneously implements modal decomposition on multi-frame signals. This approach exploits the consistency of multi-frame signals in terms of central frequencies and inherent modal functions (IMFs), effectively highlighting distinctive characteristics among emitters and reducing noise. The paper also analyzes the complexity of JVMD, proving it to be more computational-friendly than VMD.
