The study, ‘Structured Generation and Exploration of Design Space with Large Language Models for Human-AI Co-Creation’, discusses the potential of large language models (LLMs) in creative processes. The authors argue that current interaction paradigms with LLMs limit creativity by guiding users towards a limited set of ideas. They propose a new framework that allows for the structured generation of design space, enabling users to explore, evaluate, and synthesize a multitude of responses. They validate the framework’s feasibility and usefulness through the design of an interactive system, Luminate, and a user study with 8 professional writers.
