The study presents TeachingBot, a robot designed to teach handwriting to humans. It tackles two main challenges: adapting to each learner’s unique style and creating an engaging learning experience. TeachingBot uses a probabilistic learning approach to capture the learner’s style from their handwriting and offers physical guidance to make learning engaging. The results from experiments on 15 human subjects support the effectiveness of TeachingBot, showing improved learning outcomes compared to other methods. It also demonstrates how TeachingBot customizes its teaching approach for individual learners, leading to increased overall engagement and effectiveness.
