The paper explores the potential and challenges of transferability in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) research. It discusses the importance of transferability for the success of HRI research, the potential benefits of different types of contributions, and factors that can facilitate industry adoption. The paper also acknowledges challenges such as the diversity of job/skill-sets required from HRI practitioners, the lack of industry-led research, and the lack of standardization in HRI research methods. It proposes potential solutions to bridge the gap between industry expectations and academic research in HRI.
