The article presents TRIPS (Trilinear Point Splatting), a novel approach for point-based radiance field rendering. It combines the techniques of Gaussian Splatting and ADOP to overcome their individual shortcomings and render high-quality, detailed images in real-time. The technique works by rasterizing points into a screen-space image pyramid and using a lightweight neural network to reconstruct a hole-free image with details beyond splat resolution. The method surpasses existing state-of-the-art methods in rendering quality while maintaining a 60 FPS on readily available hardware.
