This article presents a study conducted in two rounds with individuals diagnosed with binge eating disorder and bulimia. The study aimed to understand their motivations and practices when consuming digital food content. The findings reveal that while these individuals anticipate positive effects from digital food media to overcome their condition, in practice, it often exacerbates their disorder. The study showed a cycle of quitting and returning to digital food content consumption. The authors suggest design implications for digital food content and multimedia platforms to support such individuals.
