The article explores the usage of the iPhone’s integrated video tracking system to perform arm weakness tests on stroke patients. The test was conducted on 4 patients, with results compared against clinician reports. Despite some limitations, the system successfully detected arm weakness, a key stroke symptom. The authors suggest that a portable body tracking system could offer advantages in clinical tests, including objectivity, repeatability, and the ability to record and compare patient groups. This technology could be particularly valuable in rural areas, where timely treatment for stroke is often challenging.
