The article discusses a new aerial robot design that can perform precise power tool tasks on vertical walls. The robot combines a quadrotor with active suction cups for perching on walls and a lightweight, tiltable linear tool table. This design allows it to handle high tool reaction forces without compromising flight stability. It can accurately pinpoint a target position despite perching imprecision. The design was evaluated in a concrete drilling application, demonstrating a drilling precision of 6mm without further automation. The design also demonstrated versatility by setting an anchor into concrete.
