The article presents AdaptiX, an open-source XR framework designed to develop and evaluate shared control applications in assistive robotics. It is primarily used in a high-resolution simulation environment. The framework includes a simulated robotic arm, multiple standard control interfaces, and a specialized recording/replay system. AdaptiX allows researchers in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) to design and test new interaction methods, intervention strategies, and multi-modal feedback techniques. It also integrates with the Robot Operating System (ROS) to control a real robotic arm.
