This article discusses the use of big data analytics to classify earthwork-related locations (ERLs), which are significant sources of urban dust pollution. The researchers used dump truck trajectory, point of interest data, and land cover data to classify dust pollution sources. The study found that high-accuracy classification can be achieved with a limited number of features. The proposed method was implemented in Chengdu’s AM system to aid in urban pollution control decisions. The study highlights the importance of timely identification and regulation of ERLs to improve urban environmental quality.
