BrickStARt is a design tool developed by researchers at Ulm University and TU-Darmstadt. It combines tangible construction blocks with a mixed-reality headset, enabling users to design and fabricate personalized objects. Users can assemble a physical model at the desired location, allowing for tangible testing, refinement, and digital post-processing. The tool was implemented using a Magic Leap headset. In a user study, first-time 3D modelers using BrickStARt were more successful than those using Tinkercad. The results suggest that BrickStARt provides an accessible and explorative process while facilitating quick tangible design iterations.
