This academic article introduces a new framework, CyMed, designed to test and improve the cybersecurity of Connected Medical Devices (CMDs). The authors acknowledge the critical role CMDs play in patient care and the potential harm that could be caused by a cybersecurity breach. Despite existing safety regulations, they note a lack of specific cybersecurity frameworks for CMDs. The CyMed framework proposed in this paper provides concrete measures to enhance CMD resilience against cyber attacks, aiming to fill this gap in the field. The effectiveness of the CyMed framework is evaluated through practical tests and expert interviews.
