This research paper discusses the role of pointing gestures in promoting awareness during collaborative decision-making on large interactive wall displays. The study involves a scenario related to the organization of medical supply chains in crisis situations. The authors identified three subtypes of pointing gestures used as awareness cues: narrative, loose, and sharp pointing. The findings show that the use of these gestures varies among participants and groups. The paper concludes that even vague pointing can effectively support verbal negotiations in a collaborative environment.
