The article presents a metacognitive generalization framework, Knowledge-Interaction-eXecution (KIX), aiming to enhance the generalist behaviors of artificial intelligence. Unlike humans, artificial agents lack the ability to adapt and flexibly solve a variety of tasks. The proposed KIX framework is designed to facilitate learning of transferable interaction concepts and generalization by leveraging object interactions. The authors argue that this approach could act as an enabler for autonomous and generalist behaviors in artificial intelligence systems, replicating human-like intelligence and flexibility.
