Understanding Generative AI in Art: An Interview Study with Artists on G-AI from an HCI Perspective

This research investigates the influence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (G-AI) on the creative arts, particularly from the artists’ point of view. It highlights the dilemma faced by artists due to the rapid advancements of G-AI, the disparity in understanding of G-AI between artists and AI developers, and a tendency among artists to oppose G-AI. The study suggests that there is a need for further research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) to address these issues.
