The paper discusses the development of an Augmented Reality (AR) Piano Improvisation Training System, ImproVISe. The system is co-designed with improvisation teachers and aims to enhance piano instruction by addressing the challenges of teaching and assessing improvisation. The prototype features basic improvisation concepts and was refined through expert interaction. The research provides design guidelines and recommendations for assessing piano improvisation in a learning context.
